The Building today is the headquarters of Credit Suisse in the United States. It was the headquarters of the New York Life Insurance Company for many years. Perched on top of Madison Square with a majestic golden dome, it stands on the site of the old rail yards. Those yards were replaced by the first and second Madison Square Gardens. The second Madison Square Garden stood here from 1890 until its demolition. The garden was designed by Stanford White, modeled after the bell tower in Seville. On top was placed a statue of Diana by Augustus St. Gaudens.
