The twelve-story Little Singer building, a robust Second Empire fortress dressed up with French Quarter details, is the crown jewel in the SoHo cast-iron treasure chest. Built for the Singer Manufacturing Company in 1904 by architect Ernest Flagg, who also designed the company's larger uptown headquarters, this Beaux-Arts landmark made innovative use of turn-of-the-century advances in engineering and construction.
