Ulysses' Folk House
Ulysses’ Folk House is one of the largest and most lively watering holes in the entire financial district. The bar takes up an entire city block and has entrances both on Pearl Street and Stone Street. The cavernous maze like space is laden with dark wood and stone. The outdoor space has garnered rave reviews and is widely known as one of the most idyllic brunch locations during the weekends. Although the food is your standard pub fare, the beer selection is above average and the bartenders are cordial and cheerful.
The defense committee that helped the enslaved Africans aboard La Amistad obtain their freedom was headquartered in an office at this location.
