Library Bar
Somewhat of an anomaly on the East Village bar scene, Library Bar focuses on the ultimate alliteration: booze, books, and b-movies. Library Bar embraces its library theme as scores of old books line the shelves of the bar. These books are available for patrons to read. The bartenders refer to themselves as librarians. They pore a decent assortment of some of the most reasonably priced drinks in the city. The bar boasts a jukebox that is well known throughout town because of its excellent selection. If reading is not your thing, Library Bar also frequently exhibits b-movies on its large projection screen. The bar has happy hour every day from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM where all drinks are two for one. As if this wasn’t enough, the bar also has arguably the best pinball machine this side of the equator.
When you plan a date, it pays to check out the spot ahead of time. Although a library seems charming and simple enough, not every page is going to be clean.
