Trump Parc
This 30-story building was erected in 1930 as the Barbizon Plaza Hotel. At first, the building was well known for its garishly over the top roof. However, the rooftop was replaced during World War II with something more refined, although the current gold top still makes the building stand out amongst its neighbors. The Barbizon Hotel throughout the years boasted a diverse clientele. The mob boss Lucky Luciano lived at the hotel for a period of time. In addition, Frida Kahlo resided at the hotel with her husband Diego Rivera while Rivera painted the murals for Rockefeller Center. In 1988, Donald Trump acquired the building and applied his usual glitzy gold and marble finish to the newly refurbished interior. Trump also converted the building into a 340-unit condominium. In addition, unable to purchase any property without injecting his name into it, The Donald decided to rename the structure Trump Parc.

People say that nobody in the mafia goes on a “ride” and lives to tell the tale. Lucky Luciano earned his place in gangster lore after being kidnapped from the Barbizon, beaten, and left for dead on a beach.
