Congress Apartments Overview
This dreary grey apartment building with a blue awning is a perfectly average pre-war structure in Midtown Manhattan. The fourteen-story building boasts an ugly blue awning, and a bar in the ground floor called Faces and Names. Perhaps the apartment building is best known for the infamous poker game that took place in the home of ex-convict Jimmy Meehan. During the legendary game, mob kingpin Arnold Rothstein lost over $300,000 to some of his fellow gamblers. His failure to pay in time resulted in his untimely death.
