220 Waverly Place
This red brick apartment building is one of the largest on Waverly Place. The four-story building is two shades of red and possesses few distinguishing qualities. The building is most famous for one of its notorious residents. Charles Van Doren, famous for the quiz show fix on the show “21”, lived in one of the apartments in the building during his tenure as a Columbia professor and game show celebrity.
The Columbia Professor and esteemed game show champion lost it all when America found out that he cheated on the hit game show, “21”. Van Doren lived at 220 Waverly during his historic quiz show run.
