Cross Country Skiing
When the city becomes blanketed with fresh white snow, and the beautiful snowcapped peaks of Vermont are just too far away, bring your ski boots and skis onto the highline for some of the freshest powder in the city. The highline boasts the longest stretch of straight powder in the city, with the least likelihood of getting hit by a car. |

Tour The Highline
Although the Highline is not yet technically open to the public, the not-for-profit organization Friends of the Highline provides tours for curious urban explorers. The tours usually take place every couple of months and are limited to roughly twenty people. The tour begins at the entrance to the Highline on 34th Street and 11th Avenue and end at the start of the Highline construction site around 18th street. |

Support Friends of Highline
This non-profit group is working to save the railway site and convert it to a trail in the fashion of Paris’ Promenade Plantee…a great cause. |
