Tribeca Film Center
This is the closest twenty-first century New York comes to the early twentieth century boho glamour of the Chelsea Hotel, a gorgeous gilded-age high rise outfitted with high-end facilities, amenities, and accoutrements, and dedicated to the business of film and television. Though there are some permanent studio offices, the Center also serves production companies establishing home bases in the city for as little as a week or two. The center was founded by Robert De Niro in 1989 and continues to be a kind of cornerstone of his lauded Tribeca Film Festival enterprise.
