Chelsea Market
Part supermarket and part greenmarket, part mini-mall and part gourmet buffet, Chelsea Market is an eclectic mix of sandwich shops, bakeries, wine stores—and certainly the best place in New York to get lunch on the run. Many busy New Yorkers do just that: the building, once the factory-heart of the Nabisco empire, now houses the headquarters of local news channel New York 1, Oprah’s Oxygen network, and (most tellingly) the Food Network. The busy epicurean concourse doesn’t just meet but surely surpasses the standards set by the DIY-network’s leading personalities: they munch here daily.
When the eggplants come out, the gloves come off.
